Question by : what are the negatives/disadvantages of e-cigarettes (electronic cigarettes)?
I am having an english debate and the debate is on the positives and the negatives of using the electronic cigarettes ..I am on the negative side and I NEED at least 10 negatives of the electronic cigarette and Im having trouble finding disadvantages (negatives).

One thing is that I think it makes you gain weight. Also, for some people, such as pregnant women or people with allergies to nicotine it might not be safe. We also do not know the long-term side effects of e-cagarettes.

I’m afraid so far you are not going to find much negatives about e-cigs. Since they started 5 yrs ago we have not heard of a single death which that on its own speaks for itself.
The fact of gaining weight. That happens anyways with anyone that stops smoking.
As far as i am concerned personally. I was a heavy smoker for 36yrs of 40 cigs a day which is a lot. My health was getting worse i’m 52yrs old. I tried all the available stop / quit smoking aids available including champix and zyban. NONE of them have worked. In march 2010 someone suggested electronic cigarettes or vapourettes as they call them as well. I did. I never looked back since that day. My health has improved almost overnight amongst many things. SO in answer to your question i cannot find anything negative to say about them.
The only negatives you will get will be from governments, tobacco companies and pharmaceutical companies plainly for the fact that they will loose the revenue from selling the meds, the taxation on tobacco and the sale of tobacco.
The electronic cigarette is made of 3 main ingredients which are Propylene glycol which you can buy over the counter at any chemist, flavour which again you get anywhere and Nicotine. That is the reason the side effects aren’t there as much as the analogue cigarette which has over 4000 poisons carcinogens etc…
here are a two although the first one applies to regular tobacco cigarettes as well:
1) contain nicotine which is highly addictive
2) need to charge i frequently

ok, one negative is having to charge the dang batteries, but that takes less time then having to drive to 7-11 to buy smokes
