Q&A: Has anyone tried electronic cigarettes?

Question by : Has anyone tried electronic cigarettes?
I’ve been considering trying electronic cigarettes, as the manufacturers claim that they feel just like smoking real cigarettes but contain only nicotine. They also work out at one fifth of the price of real cigarettes. But for someone like me who just can’t face the prospect of quitting completely, has anyone tried these and could you recommend them as a good alternative to actual cigarettes?
Thanks for the answers I’ve received so far, but please understand that I’m just too weak willed to quit. PLUS, I actually do enjoy smoking! I would like to hear from anyone who’s TRIED these electronic cigs, and what you thought/think of them.

i saw those electric ones, it’s a ploy to make money and sell you something.

Nothing like the natural thing, pure air in your lungs, having smoked for 15 years, and quit in Feb 2003, try Hypnosis, only if you want to quit and rid yourself of all the stink.

Remember you need to be ready to quit, I was ready once I saw a real human lung with Cancer on Opera with Dr. Hamit… that was a wake up call for me…

Are you not understanding that it is a simple trick to get you addicted,
they could care less if they are helping you which they are not.
Only containing nicotine means they are just addicting.
Cigarettes have no meaning to me, i will never understand
what is so great about them, you waste a fortune on them.

Don’t you want to save your money & just stop smoking in general?

I quit after 10 years of smoking traditional cigarettes by switching to electronic. I think 50% of it for me was the actual act of smoking, which the e-cigarette obviously helps. The ecig doesn’t smell, no second hand smoke, you can smoke it pretty much everywhere, and you still get your nicotine with much less chemicals!

I guess the companies don’t make quit smoking or health claims due to FDA regulations but common sense says 4000+ chemicals vs. a few is going to be much much healthier for you.

As far as brands, just do your research. I tried a few before finding ProSmoke but everyone might want something different. Check cigreviews and electroniccigarettespot for opinions and reviews. The other brands came close but I am very content with what I have now.

In the long run, it is also much cheaper. I would say 50+% for smokers. God this sounds like an infomercial….but do your research and good luck quitting!

I have been using an ecig for about two weeks now.

They DONT feel the same as smoking real cigs, but its close. You are getting a misty vapor instead of smoke, so it IS a different feeling when you take a hit.

As far as price, your mileage may vary. Most people are looking at a price reduction of about 40-70% from what they spend on reg cigs. But, many people spend a lot in their first month or so trying to find which model and flavors are right for them. Thus far, I my spending is about equal to reg cigs, but after I find my flavors, I am expecting about 50% price reduction.

Something that a lot of people dont understand and get frustrated at is the replacement of ecigs. The ecig is essentially a battery with a cartridge that contains the substance you are vaping. The battery is just like any other battery – eventually it will quit charging well and you will need a replacement. Some people are saying about once a month. Ive only been two weeks, and havent had a problem yet. But, with tthe model I have, the batteries are only 15$ , so….

I have the kr808d-1 model. Its been branded by several different people, so there are several different options for brands. I have found that for this brand, the prices are about equal. One brand might charge more for the batteries and less for the cartirdges while another brand will do less for the batteries but more for the cartidge.

I skipped buying the kit, but many people do get a kit.

I have been using my electronic cigarette for over 8 months now and not touched a regular cigarette since. I tried 3 models before finally finding the one that works best for me. If you are really looking to make the switch, I would suggest using a 2 piece design over the 3 piece design. The 2 piece designs are a little more expensive, but totally worth it. So much easier to use. If you are interested this is where I purchased mine.

I swapped from smoke to vapour almost two years ago and feel great, mentally and physically. Vaping isn’t the same as smoking but very similar.

There is a learning curve with it but if you can persevere through that and get good technique then you’re likely to be able to swap.

Respected harm reduction experts tend to agree that vaping is likely to be at least 99% safer than smoking.

Nothing will feel the exact same because it is a different method of nicotine delivery. The electronic cigarette creates a vapor instead of smoke. This does allow you to use it anywhere though. I switched from smoking a pack and a half a day to none with my 510 model. The throat hit will depend a lot on the liquid, so make sure you try a few different liquids. Totally Wicked offers the 510 model with a lot of good liquids and you can get 7.5% off using coupon code OUTPOST. I recommend you try the Hilton liquid, it will come close to an actual smoking experience. Let me know if you have other questions, I can help no matter what the question regarding electronic cigarettes. webmaster@smokeoutpost.com

I didn’t used electronic cigarettes, but everyone is different in the way they stop smoking, go on, try it, it’s the only way!
If that doesn’t helps Look at http://www.ECigBrandStarterKit.com/go/free-trial
The site isn’t an “elegant” one but its contents is ok.

    Hope this helps. Regards!

    Hi Owen,

I have been smoking for the last 10 years now and was just like you could not give up did not have the will power to give up my smoking habit was costing me a fortune as i am so addicted to nicotine just like your self I had a low paid job and was buying alot of cigarettes and it was costing me alot of money a week when I was adding up what it was costing me a year it was aprox £4,000 I thought heck that’s alot of money to spend and what we all do not relise is that we are smoking our money into the air may as well put it on the fire to burn away all my hard earn’t cash, so what I did was looked for another alternative to quitting and I tried nigotine patches this did not help even the gum I tried this did not help either so I then looked further on the internet and found they sell these cigarettes which look and feel like real cigarettes they call them Electronic cigarettes and when I watched youtube videos on these I could not beleive my eyes this was my anwser to my prayers I finally found something which I could smoke in public places and also smoke all the time just like the real thing they taste just like the real thing and feel like the real thing and even look like the real thing i have had my e cig for one year now and I have reduced my nigotine in my body by 50% now also i do not have to stand out side a pub anymore in the cold smoking as i am aloud in the pub and smoke i have never looked back since you do not have to quit with the e cig if you do not want to as these have different nigotine levels High which is for the smokers who like strong cigs Med is for smokers that like a lighter cig and low for someone who likes it a little lighter and zero nigotine this is for people who have come off cigs and want to quit if you did want to quit then you would start from high then med then low then zero and quit but it is up to you like I said you do not have to quit.

Hope this info is some help and wish you all the best in the near future with smoking!
