Question by Use Your Imagination: Buying cigarettes question?
I live in Alabama, and the legal age for buying tobacco/cigarettes is 19, I’ll be turning 18 soon, and was wondering if it’d be legal to drive to another state, e.g. Georgia, and buy cigarettes there? Or will they not let me, because I have an Alabama license?
Thanks so much! I wasn’t sure.

Sure you can. The clerk could care less! You are considered an adult at 18. You should be able to buy cigarettes if you want to. Just vote the idiots out who passed that law!

You will be able to drive to another state and buy cigarettes yes.
It is legal for you to go purchase them in another state. You will have no problem doing this. However, be aware that possessing/smoking cigarettes under 19 in your state is most likely against the law as well, so as soon as you step foot back in Alabama you will be in violation.
Buying cigarettes in Georgia, no problem! It would be legal to sell you tobacco in Georgia. Possessing tobacco in Alabama before you are 19 would be a violation of the law … but let’s face it, few (if any) officers are going to haul you in for illegal possession of tobacco! They have better things to do.
yea they will still let you buy cigarettes .
